At Viridi-Foods, we are passionate about healthy eating. On the one hand coming from competitive sport, a balanced diet with vegetable raw materials is very important to us, on the other hand, we bring experience from raw material sales of food and cosmetics industry and thus we already have a strong network of contacts.

By changing the overall global food situation, animal products that are already considered ecologically critical will not be sufficient in the long term. In today's society, people are getting better informed and more aware of themselves. In order to do justice to this, a wide range of alternative food sources as well as healthy natural foods and ingredients is required. The fact that this has not yet been found to the necessary extent led us to found Viridi Foods.

About Us

Viridi Foods is still a young company. Its founders, however, have many years of professional experiences in the food and related industries. Robert Spiegel, a food technologist with an MBA, has gained international and national experience over the last 20 years, both in the production of foodstuffs and in the distribution of raw materials and machinery for the food industry. As an engineer, he knows the process engineering fundamentals of food production very well. Within distribution in the raw materials sector, he was also able to provide application technology advice, which represents a real added value for the majority of the customers. Also due to his activities as an independent management consultant for the food industry, he recognized the potential of plant flour at an early stage. Meanwhile, there are some methods for obtaining high quality vegetable flour from raw and residual materials, which lead to an increase in added value and thus make these substances increasingly interesting for the industry, which was not possible a few years ago for lack of cost-producing.

Within distribution in the raw materials sector, he was also able to provide application technology advice, which represents a real added value for the majority of the customers. By bundling the resources and the knowledge of our partners, a company is created which, on the one hand, knows the needs of the market and has access to the market partners, on the other hand provides the technical know-how and contacts to the producers of raw materials and residues.


Philosophie

Our goal is to make vegetable raw materials available to many applications in the food and cosmetics industries (but also other industries) so that as many end consumers as possible get the chance to use high quality vegetable raw materials according to their dietary habits.

In addition, we take a comprehensive utilization of resources at heart, because even in many so-called residues of food production dormant enormous potentials such as proteins, fibers, carbohydrates, phytosubstances, minerals and trace elements, which should not simply be thrown away, but should be made available for further use. For this purpose, we enter into partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers that meet our quality standards.

It should be noted that the demand for alternative flours at the end customer is growing steadily, whether due to a vegan or vegetarian dietary orientation, due to food intolerance or because informed people, especially in sports, use their diet carefully by these new flours. So that we satisfy the increasing demand for natural, healthy, clean label, organic, vegan and / or gluten-free raw materials.


Quality

Taste is certainly always a criterion, but in this business of raw materials and substances for food or cosmetics production is superficially the quality in focus and thus flawless products. That is why we make sure that our suppliers and partners comply with all necessary quality assurance measures and certifications of the products.

Our partners and producing suppliers are usually characterized by their own quality management and are ISO certified. The organic certification is completed, IFS will be completed by the end of 2019.

Of course, the products that we trade and that are finished on order are subject to strict quality requirements and are extensively tested. We work together with various independent laboratories. There are always additional or customer-specific reviews of the products possible.


Sustainability

What do we understand by sustainability? Sustainability in our eyes is not limited to being sustainable with the available energy or water resources, i. economically reasonable and with a view to the future, to deal with. Sustainability also means making the most of available resources in the raw materials sector.
